The Benefit Roast features outstanding local personalities enduring good-natured ribbing. Past honorees (or victims, depending on how you look at it) have included Sheriff Mike Blakely and Athens Mayor Dan Williams.

Mayor Dan and Helen put an old rumor to rest.

Last year’s victim was former Representative Tommy Carter.  Mr. Carter served our community well for many years.  We thank him his service and wish him well in his retirement!

            The roasters consisted of Senator Tom Butler, Sheriff Mike Blakely, Author Deborah Ford, and Director of Alabama’s State Health Planning and Development, Alva Lambert.  Guest speakers were Mayor Dan Williams and Mr. Carter’s grandsons, Gil and Boone Carter.  One of our client’s, Ms. Carol Murray, made beautiful afghans for door prizes.  Thanks to everyone who made this event such a success.

2008 ROAST

This years roast will be Saturday, March 29th at 7:00 PM a the Senior Center. This year we will be honoring Dusty McLemore.
